Easter 2013

For our first Easter as a married couple, Chrisser had to teach me how some things work.  Like the Easter Bunny.  The Easter Bunny never came to my house growing up, so I had never gotten an Easter basket (I did get lots of candy and coins from the egg hunt at my grandma's, so I wasn't completely deprived of Easter festivities, just no baskets).  So I didn't really know what comes in Easter baskets.  I also didn't know that the Easter Bunny leaves jelly bean trails behind.

Luckily he told me about this before Easter.  We were each other's Easter Bunny, but since our apartment is so small I only had one room to work with.  So even though the jelly bean trails are usually rather loose (basically just showing what rooms the Easter Bunny had been in), there was an actual trail leading around the room where Chrisser's basket was.

I couldn't figure out what to put in it besides candy, so his wasn't the most exciting basket.  I'll do better next year, I promise!

Unfortunately that made it so Chrisser didn't have to search very hard for his basket.  Maybe we'll come up with a better system next year.  Chrisser had the whole rest of the apartment, though, so his trails were much looser and my basket was much harder to find.  I finally found it up in the corner of our storage closet.

I hadn't done my hair yet, so uh, don't pay attention to that...

Later in the day we dyed Easter eggs.  We had lots of fun with that.  This was another thing Chrisser taught me:  normal crayons work on eggs.  For some reason that had never occurred to me before, so I was super excited about all the new colors and stuff I could use.

Mine are on the left, Chrisser's are on the right.
We had just finished our last eggs when we got the idea to do minions from Despicable Me.  So of course we had to boil some more...

Oh, and for a couple weeks leading up to Easter I had these window stickers up, too.  They were fun, even though no one could really see them since we're on the second floor and this window just overlooks our balcony.  Oh well.

  1. These posts always make me laugh! I love that you boiled more! Hahaha! And also, I had Sterling do the jelly bean trail for Will and he also did a straight line and looked confused when I tried to tell him about the bunny hopping and leaving things everywhere...apparently this is something only our family did. Hmm...next year, NO MERCY, hide Chrisser's basket somewhere impossible to find! :D
