Couches!

We never thought couches would be so exciting!  Remember my post that showed our little cushion thing pretending to be one?  Well last night we got some real ones for free!  Someone posted on our ward Facebook page saying that they were moving today and needed to get rid of their couches.  We were the first ones to respond, so we got them.  Yay!  They are your typical hand-me-down looking couches, but they are quite comfortable.

The one in the living room doesn't have an armrest because they are meant to be pushed together in an L shape.  But we don't have room for that, so the other one is in our storage room.  Which, by the way, Chrisser organized this morning while I was at work as a surprise!  He also did the dishes and cleaned up the living room for me.  He's so sweet :).

So Classy...

We like to pretend we're really classy sometimes.  We went to Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday to buy some more stuff we needed with the gift cards we got for our wedding.  Among other things (mostly little kitchen gadgets), we came home with this:

Yup, a coat rack!  We know it's kinda silly for us to have one while we are poor college students in a small, quite unclassy apartment, but that was a lot of the reason we did it.  We just like to be weird sometimes.  Every time we look at it one of us will say, "Haha, we're really strange--we have a coat rack," and the other will usually reply, "Yup, isn't it great?!"  Needless to say, we love our lives :).

Home Sweet Home

So I figured I'd show you guys our first apartment as a married couple!

First I'll show you what our first kitchen table and chairs were...

Yup, it was stacked up boxes with an office chair and an exercise ball.  Pretty great :)

We only had that for a few days, though.  Then my dad was able to bring down the table we're borrowing from them.  Though it was a couple weeks before we made it to Walmart to buy some folding chairs.  But this is our current table and chairs:

Much nicer.  Then we have our little kitchen:

Yes, that little cushion thing is pretending to be a couch.  We still don't have one of those.  We also don't have a bed yet, but I think that's just as well because I'm not sure if we'd be able to open the bottom drawers of our dresser if we did...

Yeah, it's a mess, haha.  We actually have cleaned it up a little bit since I took this picture, but not much.  We're pretty glad we got a two bedroom apartment.  We have no idea what we would do with all of our stuff if we only had one.

Beginnings

A new family, a new blog!

I'm horrible at remembering to post so we'll see how this goes, but Chrisser really wanted me to start a blog for our family.  So I did.  Ta-da!

I guess this post will be all about (what else?) our wedding!  We got married on Dec. 14, 2012 in the Bountiful Utah LDS Temple.

We had some really great bridal photos taken the day before by Chrisser's sister, Sarah.  We took some at the Utah State Capitol and others at the Bountiful Temple.  Here are a few of my many favorites:

We had a lot of fun shooting them despite how cold it was outside.

The day of our wedding, we had the ceremony in the morning (Chrisser's grandfather was our sealer), a luncheon at my stake center in the afternoon, and a reception--also at my stake center--that evening.  Our colors were purple, silver, and white with kind of a "winter wonderland" theme.  Our refreshments included hot cocoa, sugar cookies, and cake pops.  Here are a couple detail shots from it:

It was a pretty perfect day in my opinion :)
The next day we headed to Moab for our honeymoon.  We stayed in a really cute guest house, went to Arches National Park, watched a bunch of movies, and just had fun being with each other.

After that we went to Virginia to spend the holidays with Chrisser's family, and we had another reception while we were there.

It was a crazy couple of weeks, but they were a lot of fun.  And that, in a nutshell, was our wedding!

Another note about my blog posts (besides how infrequent they are): they tend to be very picture heavy.  I have a really hard time blogging about something if I don't have pictures to go with it.  Probably because I have a hard time reading blog posts that don't have pictures.  So I hope the pics make it more interesting for you, too!
